is inspired by the Swedish word ro — a sense of calm, ease and peace of mind. We believe money should give you more of it, not less. That became the idea behind : a visual way to organize money around the things it is actually for — the everyday, the important, and the things you're working toward.
The first version of existed long before the app. It started more than 15 years ago, when the founder used envelopes to divide up her money while studying in Australia — a simple system for deciding where her money should go. Even on a tight student budget, the envelope system made money feel clear rather than stressful.
Years later, another thought followed: why do personal finance tools so often feel clinical, complicated, or simply uninspiring? Money is deeply personal.
